Expert Witness in Weather and Climatology
"Climate is what you expect, Weather is what you get."
Mark Twain hit the nail on the head. What we EXPECT to happen in our daily weather is based on long term weather which is climate. So what we get is not what we might expect
This unexpected weather leads to an astonishing number of legal cases where there is injury or property damage. Even here in normally dry Arizona we have weather related legal cases all the time.
As a young meteorologist, I was asked by an attorney to testify in case after the great floods in Arizona of 1978 and 1980. He hired me to research the rainfall amounts and the predictability of the quantity of rain forecast to fall. Little did I know when I testified in the case it would be the longest civil case in Maricopa County Arizona history up to that time.
That case led to another and then another. Over the years I have been retained by plaintiffs and defendants to research and testify in weather-related cases including:
- Rain Storms
- Dust Storms
- Snow Storms
- Wind Storms
- Sunrise And Sunset
- Gust Fronts And Microbursts
- Negligence Due To Weather Events
Working with attorneys over all of these years I enjoy being an asset in a case making sure that weather and climate evidence is presented in such a way that it is completely understood by the judge and/or the jury.
